Two thirds of Brits can't name five fruits or vegetables

A group of experts today urged the government to increase the official guideline daily amount of fruit and vegetables people should eat from five to seven or even 10 portions. This would match the suggested quota in Norway but would still be a long way behind the recommendation in Bongo Bongo land.
However, another group of experts has suggested that the higher target is unrealistic. "Research shows that two thirds of British adults cannot name five fruits or vegetables, so how are they supposed to consume seven?" said a spokesman of the Food Attitudes Thinktank (FAT).
The guidelines have indeed been difficult for some people to follow. Gary Slouch, a lazy stereotype from Uxbridge pointed out: "I've already had both of the kinds of fruit and vegetable I know about today - chips and crisps - so what am I supposed to do now?"
